About Campbell
Campbell Rich is a longtime Stuart resident, current Stuart City Commissioner, and former Mayor running for reelection to continue serving the community he and his family have called home for more than 30 years.
After choosing Stuart as their home, Campbell and his wife, Heidi, raised two children here while he built a successful career as a Certified Financial Planner. Since retiring, Campbell has focused his time on public service and working with people and organizations committed to building a stronger Stuart for the families who live here today — and for those who will one day call Stuart home.
For Campbell, public service starts at the front door. Seeking reelection means walking neighborhoods, talking with residents, listening to their concerns, and asking what they want Stuart to become. Even in the Florida heat, those conversations are worth it. Stuart residents are informed, engaged, and full of ideas, and Campbell believes he learns something new from them every day.
Sometimes public service means helping solve a small but important neighborhood issue. Other times, it means working on challenges that will shape Stuart for generations: protecting our waterways, strengthening downtown, honoring the City’s Comprehensive Plan, improving public transportation options, and making sure Stuart has a strong voice in regional and statewide decisions.
Campbell is especially proud of helping found the US Sailing Center of Martin County. What began with a friend, his father, and a shared vision grew into a world-class public recreational resource serving children, families, sailors, and visitors from Stuart and around the world. That experience reinforced Campbell’s belief that strong communities invest in young people, public spaces, and opportunities that can last a lifetime.
As Commissioner and former Mayor, Campbell has seen how much local government can accomplish when it listens, plans carefully, and works with the right partners. Today, Stuart is going through an important transition, with new leadership at City Hall and major decisions ahead for downtown, Flagler Park, the current City Hall property, our waterways, and the future character of the community.
Campbell is running for reelection because he believes experience, continuity, judgment, and institutional knowledge matter — especially in this moment.
He has spent years building relationships across Stuart, Martin County, the Treasure Coast, and the State of Florida. Those relationships help give Stuart a stronger voice on issues that do not stop at the city limits, including clean water, stormwater management, Home Rule, infrastructure, affordable housing, tourism, and regional cooperation.
Campbell is ready to keep using that experience to fight for Stuart’s future.
